Lab 1: Daily brief at 7 am
One message each weekday morning with your day, the emails that need you, and last night's sleep.
- Goal
- A 7 am weekday message: your calendar, emails that need a reply, and your sleep.
- You learn
- Connector permissions, recurring tasks, the Upcoming tab, replying from Chat or WhatsApp
- Needs
- Google Calendar, Gmail. Optional: Withings or Apple Health, WhatsApp.
- Payoff
- 10 to 15 minutes each morning you no longer spend opening three apps
Steps
- Connect Google Calendar and Gmail in Settings›Connectors. Check that their write and delete actions are on Ask.
- Optional: connect Withings or Apple Health for sleep data.
- Run the brief once:
Give me a brief for today. 1) My calendar events with times and locations. 2) Emails from the last 24 hours that need a reply from me, one line each on what they want. 3) My sleep last night from Withings or Apple Health. Keep it under 150 words.
- Correct what is off. For example:
Skip newsletters and receipts. Flag any meeting that overlaps another. Put the email section first.
- Make it recurring:
Send me this brief every weekday at 7:00 am, with the changes I asked for.
- Open Your assistant›Upcoming and confirm the task is there.
- Next morning, reply to the brief in Chat, or in WhatsApp if you linked it: "Move my 3 pm to Thursday." Watch for the approval screen.
Check
- The task shows in Upcoming.
- The first brief arrives the next weekday.
- Nothing changed on your calendar without your approval.
Push further
Add today's weather for [city] to the brief. If rain is likely during my commute, tell me when to leave.
On Fridays, add a list of next week's meetings that have no agenda in the invite.
